Birthdays Galore

I seem to have birthdays galore over the next few weeks so thought I had better get cracking. I have decided to make different shaped cards and so got to searching in the old grey cells (not a pretty site) lol. I popped over to StampwithUs blog and decided to make one card to fit their challenge which is a Receipe Challenge this week; 4 Patterned Papers; 2Card Stock and no other embellishments (eeeek). So, decided to use Stampin' Up! Playful Petals Set; Tea Party Designer Papers, and for a different shape I cut a Zig Zag card in Whisper White. I stamped and Cut out the flowers in designer papers and 2nd choice card stock Certainly Celery. Three Papers were used on the card and the 4th paper was used to stamp on and cut out the flowers. The image above shows the Happy Birthday greeting, I also inked all the edges of the paper to give definition. I also stamped inside the card on the bottom edge with small stamp from the set.

Back from Holiday

Hello everyone I'm back of my hols, a good relaxing break in Cornwall and apart from one really bad storm we had good weather-yes the sun shone and I dipped my feet in the sea - it was freeezing! Meg (our Golden Retreiver) went for a swim but even she only went out a little way.

On Monday 22nd I was invited by Lisa (Hi if you have dropped by) to give a demonstration to her craft group in Kidderminster, I had a great evening and met some lovely ladies, most of them had never stamped before; but by the end of the evening everyone had had a play with a Stampin' Up! Stamp Set, Inks and punches and had stamped a card and enjoyed themselves.

For the make and take I kept the project simple to show, with the minimum products how easy it was to make a card, using one stamp set a set of Ink spots and card in the same family colour.
These are the samples I made for inspiration.

This is the card I demonstrated using Stamps Set Organic Grace Ink, Sanded Background Stamp; Ink Spots Soft Subtles; Oval All stamp set and Oval Punches.

Thank you for a lovely evening and I hope to meet up with you all again.

Going around in Circles

This is the sketch for this weeks challenge on Stamp With Us blog

My week seems to be exactly like the Title, I'm seem to be going around in ever decreasing circles; is it me or do the days and the week get shorter and shorter; lol. I know I can all hear you saying "it's an age thing", well we won't go there today!! ;-}
Anyway I found some "me" time and here is my take for this weeks challenge, I love the Colour Taken with Teal and the Stamp Set Doodle That is one of my favourites too. I have kept the design simple and stayed exactly to the sketch. The background is stamped in Night of Navy with the Sanded Background Stamp, this is such a versatile Stamp. Circles Stamped in Taken with Teal and Night of Navy on Whisper White punched with 1/1/4" punch, Night of Navy Card punched with 1/3/8" Circle Punch . The verse is from Best Yet Stamp Set. A simple design; sometimes less is more!

What a Surprise!

A quick post today as I just had to share with you all this lovely Coaster Tile I had as a present at a recent workshop hosted by Sue Law (click on the link to see her work).

Stamp used is from Stampin' Up! Summer by the Sea Set; stamped onto a tile and coloured with copics pens. This Tile stands with pride in my craft room and is not for putting cups on!! We had a great workshop at Sue's where at her request the guests made a Bag-a-loop and co-ordinating card. Thank you again for a lovely gift. I love it.
